This is a post intended to inform you about the custom features of the server with detailed information and an intricate section about the Maniac Points Currency and what they can buy.
I want to emphasize that all nearly all custom content can be avoided or excluded for those who wish to have a full blizzlike experience. When it can't be excluded, the information will tell you so.
1.0 XP rates & Double XP Weekend
Wow-Mania has a default 2x experience rate to ease the journey to level 80. This can be changed to 1x (blizzlike) at Shortstuff Maniac in our WoW-Mania Mall or at your starting zone.
1.1 Double XP Weekend
We also have a Double XP weekend from 00:00 on Saturday to 00:00 on Monday. This gives a full Saturday and Sunday with twice the amount of XP, scaling with the XP rate you set for your character. Unlike the rates, the double XP weekend can not be changed as it is embedded in the game.
1.2 Even higher XP rate
You can set your XP even higher, to 4x or 6x if you have a VIP subscription going.
By visiting our shop, you can purchase a VIP Subscription. This comes with several custom commands your character can use in game. You purchase the subscription one month at a time and it costs £5.
2.1 Commands available when VIP
The subscription comes with six custom commands:
.vip mail - Access your mailbox on command.
.vip repair - Repair your items on command.
.vip bank - Access your bank on command.
.vip unstuck - Use the unstuck function to get you out when stuck in the world.
.vip XP #rate - Set your experience rate to 1, 2, 4 or 6 times normal rate (.vip XP 6 for example).
.vip end - Shows the date your VIP subscription expires
2.2 The Maniac Title
Purchasing VIP also gives you the title "Playername The Maniac". This is not automated and you will need to open a ticket. In the ticket, tell us that you bought VIP and want your title. If you have an active subscription, we will give you the title.
3.0 HD Models
Your character apperance is updated to HD models. These differ slightly from the retail versions but are an upgrade of the old models.
4.0 Cross Faction Chat and Trade
To compensate for the lower amount of players (compared to retail) we enabled Cross Faction Chat and Trade to enhance the social aspect of the server and the economic aspect too. We used to have cross faction dungeons and raids, but it caused too much stress on the server to maintain as the population grew. When you log in to the game, "/join world" to interact with players of both factions and you can use "/join x-trade" for trading business. You can also mail both factions.
Tip! Use the World Chat to encourage players to queue Battlegrounds.
5.0 Recruit a Friend
All information you should need can be found in this post.
6.0 Level 10 mount and Azeroth Flying
On WoW-Mania you are able to ride a mount at level 10. Once you hit level 10, you gain the right riding skill and your mount is placed in your inventory. If your inventory is full at the moment, you will need to open a ticket to get your mount manually added. If you do not wish to use the mount at level 10 and want a blizzlike experience, you can simply wait to use it until you hit level 20.
6.1 Azeroth Flying
You are also able to fly in Azeroth with specific mounts if you pruchase the maximum riding skill and have Cold Weather Flying (for flying in Northrend). The mounts able to fly in Azeroth are:
Swift Red Windrider (for Horde)
Swift Blue Gryphon (for Alliance)
All WoTLK mounts purchased with Maniac Points
All Cataclysm mounts
7.0 Maniac Points
Maniac Points (MP) is the custom WoW-Mania Currency. It can be found in your currency tab once you earn one if you use our client or by the command ".reward view" if you don't. You can spend your MP at the custom NPCs in our WoW-Mania Mall. Keep reading to get the details. You can move MP between your characters on the same account and realm here.
7.1 How to earn Maniac Points
You earn Maniac Points through playtime, added every 10th level.
Level 10 - 5 MP
Level 20 - 10 MP
Level 30 - 15 MP
Level 40 - 15 MP
Level 50 - 15 MP
Level 60 - 15 MP
Level 70 - 15 MP

TOTAL: 105 MP
You can also earn Maniac Points through playing at level 80. You get 1 MP for each Arena Match lost and 2 MP if you win, 1 MP for a finished Wintergrasp or Battleground. You also earn 1 MP for the first completed instance through Random Dungeon Finder each day. MP are sometimes used as a reward for GM events in game as well.
The last way to earn Maniac Points is through voting. You can get up to 6 Maniac Points per day (or 12 during the first week of each month). The MPs are deposited on the next day to the first character that logins in. Beware that this is based on your IP so if someone else in your household logs onto their account before you, they will be deposited to that character. Besides the MPs you will also accumulate "Vote Points"
7.2 What other ways are there to get MP?
You can trade gold into MP at our mall. The rates are:

50 MP for £5
100 MP for £10
220 MP for £20
345 MP for £30
600 MP for £50
8.0 Vote Points
Vote Points is the currency earned through voting for the server. You can get up to 6 VP per day (or 12 during the first week of each month). The VPs are deposited on the next day to the first character that logins in. Beware that this is based on your IP so if someone else in your household logs onto their account before you, they will be deposited to that character. You can spend your VP at George Maniac in our WoW-Mania Mall, Orgrimmar (outside the Auction House) or Stormwind
9.0 The WoW-Mania Mall
Using a WoW-Mania Teleport Stone will instantly bring you to our custom mall. This is where we placed all custom NPCs to avoid them interfering with the original world. Here you also find portals to major cities, common food vendors and a Jeeves for repair.
9.1 How to get the Teleport Stone
You will find this stone in your inventoryif you create a new character. If you already have a character but no stone, you can go to Orgrimmar and find Kaja <Guns & Ammunition> (the hut left of the Auction House), Stormwind and find Gunther Weller <Weapons Merchant> (the house opposite to the Auction House) or Dalaran and find Ildine Sorrowspear <Enchanting Supplies> (The enchanting shop right of the Violet Citadel).
9.2 The Gurubashi Teleport Stone
The same information goes for the Gurubashi Teleport Stone, which brings you to the Gurubashi Arena in Booty Bay. This was an idea suggested by a player in the early days of WoW-Mania and encourage players to PVP in the arena (or easily get to Gurubashi for GM PVP events!).
9.3 Teleport Stone Cooldowns
Both teleport stones shares a 30 minute cooldown. Keep this in mind before you use either to avoid being stranded in a location. It does not share CD with your normal Hearthstone.

This amount will be withdrawn from you and the player that lands the killing blow on the target you bountied will be rewarded the same amount as you placed. There will be a server message saying "A bounty has been placed on Playername. Kill Playername immediately to collect the reward!". You can also view a list of the current bounties to find your next prey. The Bounty Hunter can only hold 10 players at a time.
11.0 Character Services
Ernesto the Handyman is located within the WoW-Mania mall. He is tiny so you might have to look twice! Like any other custom vendor, the purchases comes with a warning "Beware, all purchases are final. No refund".
11.1 Ernesto's offers

Transmog is a feature implemented in Cataclysm but tweaked to work here on WoW-Mania. It allows players to alter the appearance of their weapons and armor for a fee (MP or Transmog Token). The appearence is placed on your item, meaning if you change your item, the transmog does not follow onto your new item but stays on your old item. The interface is different from the retail one and works like this:
12.1 Transmog with MP
When talking to Warpweaver Hashom you'll open a window.
Click the item slot you wish to transmog. You will then get a list of every item currently in your inventory matching the slot. Thus the items you use for your transmogs must be in your bags when you transmogrify. You can use any armor type and transmogrify everything as long as it would go into the same item slot of the item you want to transmog.
Click your chosen item and check your confirmation window that appears.
Every time you transmogrify an item you'll lose 5 Maniac Points.
IMPORTANT! Once you finished your transmog, go to "manage sets" and SAVE YOUR SET. If not, your transmog can disappear and we do not refund your MPs. If you wish to remove your transmog, you can click "remove all transmogrifications". This action costs no MP.
12.2 Transmog with Tokens
All initial information about the Token Transmog system can be found here.
Clemence Maniac sells disguise items and statless items for transmog that will be placed in your inventory and can be used for the transmog system explained above.
One item costs one transmog token. Note that we do not refund as you will recieve this confirmation window:
Danno transmogs for tokens too. His transmog works as follwed. Talk to Danno and open your transmog window.
Chosing your item slot opens the following window. On top you see your currently equipped item in that slot (Bloodsail Admiral's Hat). If you change your equipped item while this window is up, you need to click update selected: and it will change. Then chose what armor quality you wish to transmog TO. Here I chose uncommon which opens a window with every uncommon item in the selected slot available.
Note that I wear and item of cloth armor which only brings up items of cloth armor in this window. If I was wearing a leather helm, only items of leather armor would show up. This goes for anything you want to transmog at Danno, which seperates him from Warpweaver Hashom.
Once you click the item, your transmog token is withdrawn and your item has changed appearence. BEWARE that we do not refund your misclicks. You can remove transmog from your items by talking to Danno as well.
