Thank you, now it works!
The problem was at point 3. Read-only in the client folder.

1: Folder was and is in C drive
2: realmlist.wtf is not read-only
3. Client folder will NOT stay not read-only (nor any of the other folders, odd, so its something with me, perhaps)
4. still working on this, if its the problem.

I'm having the exact same issue, I'll change the WoW-Mania-2.5.0 folder and everything within it to UNCHECK read only, and then going back into properties it will still have read only checked. Thanks in advance for any insight on this :)

For a unknow reason - i did NOTHING - the Launcher worked . Now the client is 2.5.1 . I didn't see the download progress (maybe because i'm on 1megabit optical) but it worked this (very) early morning . Oh well..

I have Windows 10 Home, and I found that I have to uncheck the Read-Only box on the WoW folder (which I moved to C:) for every single patch. I'm not complaining, just explaining. It could have something to do with my Windows settings or antivirus or whatever. But I uncheck, watch it patch, go back and uncheck it again, watch it patch--rinse & repeat. It does make it work.

I will try that later, Barnes77. Thanks for the suggestion!

Later: That worked! I just unchecked the main folder (and allowed it to uncheck all the subfolders) and then used the installer and its now 2.5.1! Thanks again!

Anyone have any new information on this? Been almost a week now, and still every time I uncheck the "read only" box in the main WoW folder in the D:// drive, it will automatically go back to checked and the launcher closes after staying open for a few seconds on "Checking for updates"

Try unchecking it and then immediantly run the launcher. I was able to update it despite my files being read only after that.
