I can log in, I get to my character selection screen
I select a character and go to enter the world
I get the loadingscreen with its bar.
And then get Disconnected from Server and have to log in again.
I can sometimes get a few frames of my character in the city standing by his mailbox, but before I can do anything I get the Disconnect.

I just updated to 2.8, I have deleted the cache and I am running through the launcher.

What can I do to get into the game?

This same thing is happening to me. Everything is updated and I am able to log on and choose a character but as soon as the loading screen finishes it will disconnect me from the server.
I am able to play on the Naxxramus realm but all my characters are on Redemption so I would like to be able to get back in.

I had this same problem, I turned off my VPN (not smart in my location) and was able to log in. Spoke to a GM and he said its because of goldsellers. If you don't have a set IP they wont let you in. So without a VPN is fine. I dont think they understand that most people nowadays run a VPN, I figure its going to hurt the player base for a while until they get there issues sorted.
