Linux and the new launcher

Post by bergaliv » Wed May 04, 2022 10:57 am

Has anyone got the new launcher to work? It breaks for me,using wine, while it's looking for quicktime. But surely quicktime isn't used today.

Hey Bergaliv,

A late reply, but if you are still having problems then try removing the video file that is within the Resources folder. Leaving the Resources folder empty might help you start the launcher. The video background may be causing issues with Wine when you start it.

I got it working by installing an older QuickTime version via Wine tricks, it's odd, but the launcher still has legacy dependencies tied to QuickTime.

After an update to the Heroic Game Launcher on EndeavorOS, the Launcher stopped running.. Ive already installed DotNET 48 and QT 3.6.

Wine version is 10.12. Doesn't work on the Proton-GE Latest either.

I can still run the game EXE, its just the Launcher that doesn't work anymore.
